Peer Review Process

An-Nahdlah Edu: Journal of Elementary Education implements a double-blind peer-review process to ensure the quality, originality, and scientific integrity of published manuscripts. In this process, the identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed throughout the review procedure.

All submitted manuscripts undergo the following review stages:

1. Initial Manuscript Screening

The Editorial Team conducts an initial evaluation to assess the manuscript’s suitability with the journal’s focus and scope, compliance with author guidelines, originality, and adherence to publication ethics. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal requirements may be rejected without external review.

2. Similarity Check

All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software to ensure originality. Manuscripts with a high level of similarity or indications of plagiarism, duplicate submission, or unethical publication practices will be rejected.

3. Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript topic. The review process follows a double-blind system, where the identities of authors and reviewers remain anonymous.

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:

  • Originality and novelty of the study
  • Relevance to the journal scope
  • Scientific contribution and significance
  • Methodological rigor and validity
  • Clarity of presentation and organization
  • Quality of analysis and discussion
  • Relevance and adequacy of references
  • Language quality and academic writing standards

4. Editorial Decision

Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial decision may be categorized as follows:

  • Accept Submission
  • Revisions Required
  • Resubmit for Review
  • Resubmit Elsewhere
  • Decline Submission

The Editor-in-Chief has the final decision regarding manuscript acceptance.

5. Revision Process

Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to reviewers’ comments and editorial recommendations. Revised manuscripts may undergo additional review if necessary.

6. Final Decision and Publication

Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, layout editing, proofreading, and final publication.

The average review period is approximately 4–8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and manuscript revisions.
